Limits and risks
Read this before you put real money in.
Status
The contracts are not audited and not deployed. The website uses a simulated ledger in your browser. The wallets and signatures are real, the balances are play money.
What can go wrong
| Risk | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Unaudited code | A bug could lock or lose funds. | Small amounts, get an audit before real use. |
| Delegation persists | An armed wallet stays delegated after the firing. | Use revoke when you are done. A delegated wallet only runs calls its key signed. |
| Arm keys leak | Whoever holds a wallet key controls that wallet. | Keep the arms file private. Use fresh wallets with small balances. |
| Slippage | A buy can fail or fill badly if the price moves. | Set a minimum out in the signed call. Use non-atomic mode if one failure should not cancel the rest. |
| Launch protections | Launchpads may add snipe taxes or limits for the first seconds. | Octo does not bypass them. Read the launchpad's rules. |
| Chain support | Type-4 transactions must stay supported. | Checked on Nitro v3.12 on 2026-10-09. |
| Public data | Wallets, amounts and the sponsor are on chain. | This is not a privacy tool. |
What Octo is not
- Not a way around any rule or limit of the contracts you call.
- Not private, not anonymous.
- Not a cheaper way to buy. It is a way to act together.
